ASHRAE Miami’s Technical Lunch, Testing for Successful UV-C Application in The Real World was held on October 14th, 2025, at 12pm, at the 94th Aero Squadron in Miami. The first Guest Speaker was Larry Fletcher, Commercial/Technical Director at RGF Environmental Group, Inc., where he leads the development of indoor air quality (IAQ) systems.
A review of recent data published in the AHSRAE Journal, using the only known ASHRAE 185.2 testing apparatus to better understand germicidal UV applications in HVAC systems. They discussed different UV sources, lamps and LEDS, and looked at their performance under HVAC operating conditions from 55 to 120o F.
Speaker Matt Kruse discussed the challenges facing legacy HVAC technology and the role of liquid desiccants in reshaping the future of building heating and cooling.
